Bath Time
Catherine loves taking baths!
Today Catherine is 11 months old. She has suddenly become very interested in eating whatever we eat and is also good at it, so she has been having so much grown up food. She is usually not interested in her 'smoosh' (aka baby food) any more, and begs for anything we happen to be having.
Last night she had sauteed spinich, home made chicken soup, toast, pears, cheese, and probably a lot more that I can't remember! This is leading to a little fussiness overnight from gas, but I think it's really exciting how good she is now at so many new foods.

I was looking through some old pictures of Catherine and ran across this one. I love the way she looks like she's having a serious power nap. She is about 12 days old here. I think the majority of our early pictures of her are while she is sleeping!

She Walks
Catherine took her first unaided steps last night! As I suspected, it was motivated by books; I was holding the book she wanted to hear and she was close enough to step toward me. She took one step with her left foot and then fell down, then a few seconds later took two steps. She had been walking sideways along furniture without holding on, but walking forward is different! Of course we missed it on video, but I'm sure she'll be doing more walking soon. Today her nap was delayed because she wanted to stomp her feet a little.

World's Slowest Lawnmower
You can see how mild the weather has been here lately. Catherine and I have been going out to the patio to get a little sun on us and get her hands dirty. I always put socks on her, but it's actually been warm enough that when they come off, her feet don't really get cold!

Happy Russian Orthodox Christmas!
