Laughing

Catherine likes to cough at us and we cough back. I think it started as her perceiving our coughing as a laughter sound and she would grin and laugh, but now she makes an actual coughing noise and smiles like crazy.

This morning she was sitting in her walker and Gustav was on the floor next to her. She kept coughing and looking at him expectantly. I guess she will eventually figure out this whole cat business!

Catherine is so excited she can grab her footies now, although most of the time when she wants to stuff them in her mouth, her hand is in the way

I just love how unsuspecting Catherine looks and she's about to get a big face full of enthusiastic baby hands on her

Bet you thought I wouldn't make it before Friday was over, didn't you? It has been a very crazy day and I just remembered I better post before the day is up!

I don't mean to post too many pictures of myself, but I just love how really delighted Catherine looks here. If you want to see her gums, it sometimes takes a kissy monster!

Interest

I just love the look of pure interest on Catherine's face in this shot. It can be hard to capture sometimes because she moves around a lot when she's excited!

Catherine is Amazed

Catherine is fascinated by the keyboard or better yet loves it when she can get her hands on the laptop, since it has the mouse pad and buttons too. This is from the school of try harder to center the picture; self-portrait style pictures of Catherine while I'm holding her sometimes don't come out at all well framed!

This is Catherine at work with her buddy Ansel, who is just shy of 2 months older than her. They have a lot of fun playing together; her first little friend!

I love the intense look of skepticism in this picture and obvious agitation marked by her flailing arms. Pick me up already!

Cube Friend

This cube used to sit on the dresser when we weren't playing with it, and when I was holding Catherine she would see the baby picture and coo and grin at it. Her first little friend!

A Little Bit Self Sufficient

I think I was just impressed that Catherine could hold the bottle by herself. She's so coordinated already!

This Can't Be Restful

Once Catherine found out she could roll over, she started sleeping on her tummy almost all of the time. She also seems to like to stick her butt in the air while she's sleeping, which I can't imagine is very comfortable!

This is an old picture of Catherine at 1 month old. She used to sleep with her arms thrown over her head like this; it was always so funny to us. Sometimes when a noise would startle her, she would throw her arms up like this too!

4 Month Drs Visit

Catherine had her 4 month well visit yesterday and had to get her shots, the poor thing! We're having a whooping cough outbreak in California (declared an epidemic now, but the numbers aren't what you would consider an epidemic for a normal illness) so we wanted to get these done as much on time as possible. Catherine was very brave and only cried for a few minutes. I think she was possibly more upset by the ear exam!

4 Month Stats:
Weight: 17 pounds 1.4 oz (97th percentile)
Height: 26 3/4 inches (99th percentile)
Head circumference: 42 1/2 cm (84th percentile)

Hot Off the Press...

I just now took this picture, not 5 minutes ago. This is very current Catherine! I have a feeling there will be a lot of crib pictures on here for a while... Also, while I was in here uploading the picture, she managed to turn on one of her crib toys, and not with her feet! I don't know if she head-butted it or got it with her hands somehow, we'll have to set up a webcam to be sure ;)
