Catherine loves turning her crib toy on and off. She was even butting it with her head to start it going!

Catherine loves Gustav and always lurches and crawls toward him as fast as she can when he's around. He also seems interested in her, but the twain shall be kept apart for now while their play styles are so different (or rather, too close for either to enjoy)

She Also Talks

The other things Catherine does to make pictures trickier to take are 'talking' and teething. She bites her lips a lot because her gums are sore and makes a lot of gurgling, talking, squealing noises, which in motion look adorable, but sometimes the camera can't figure out what to make of a still frame of! Soon we'll have to post some video :)

Hard to Capture

Now that Catherine is so mobile it can be pretty hard to capture her in pictures. Between her crawling, rolling and lurching, not to mention ducking her head when she smiles, most of the cutest pictures come out blurry! Sometimes when she's in her walker I have to literally put my foot on it to keep her still enough to get a picture!

Crawling Catherine

Catherine has been practicing crawling for the last few weeks, but over the past few days she can really crawl! We've taken down her crib bumpers because she also started trying to climb them. Suddenly she's really mobile!

Reflections on a Counter

Catherine really loves her walker. Now that she's gotten a little bigger, she can move around the whole kitchen in it. Move is maybe not specific enough; she sort of staggers around like a drunken sailor, not always getting exactly where she means to go, but enjoying herself, none the less!

Outfits Come and Gone

Catherine has been growing like kudzu lately; all of her little Summer outfits are completely too small for her! Which is fine; it gives us a chance to put her in things like onsies and pants and the like. But it's so funny to buy her something and watch it go from over-sized to minuscule seemingly in a matter of minutes.

Catherine has been demolishing baby food recently; we started giving her solids and she gets so crazy about them she sometimes screams between bites because we aren't feeding her fast enough! Likes so far: apples, pears, carrots, butternut squash. Dislikes: peas! She often will just look at me and start making masticating faces and I know she's ready to tuck into a nice baby food meal :)

That was so much fun I thought I would do it again! This is Catherine at 4 weeks (?) I love the way she looks like she's doing some sort of dance. A cha cha cha!

News Flash

Catherine just pulled her binkie out of her mouth and stuck it in my mouth! She could have done this for two possible reasons that I can think of:

1. I pop her binkie in my mouth when it falls on the table or in my lap (or somewhere not too disgusting) to make sure there isn't any lint on it.

2. When Catherine sees me do this, she thinks it's hilarious.

Since it did have lint on it, Catherine was either trying to be funny, or she was trying to get the lint off of her binkie. Either way, go Catherine!

I love this picture of Vlad and Catherine; I think she's about two weeks old here (the dates are all messed up on the pictures because I used the Microsoft Wizard to import pictures. Thank you Microsoft for making complex that which should be easy!)

I think I've said before how much Catherine loves to play with the keyboard. The trick is getting the camera centered on her while she's in my lap and also having no idea what she's looking like. I think this one expresses some of her intensity!

Catherine is exploding with activity and development lately. She can sit upright unsupported. She is on the verge of crawling. She is starting to eat solid foods (she loves carrots!). And she seems to be about to sprout some teeth any day now. When Catherine decides to grow, she nails it :)
